"Abdul-Baki Todashev told The Associated Press that his son — the second of 12 children — was at university he got an opportunity to go to the United States to study English when about five or six years ago. He said he later agreed to his son’s request to remain in the U.S. “because it seemed like the safest country.”

Abdul-Baki Todashev said he was worried that with his son was dead, the FBI could pin any crime on him.

“Out of fear of the lawlessness in Chechnya, I sent him to the U.S., because it seemed like the safest country at the time,” the distraught father said. “Now I’m thinking about how to bring home his body. As it turns out I sent him to his death."

Salon: “Father of man shot in Boston probe shares regrets”, May 23 2013

There’s a LOT of BS going around about the US “war” on their Chechen expats, which as I said before is a gift to Russia for their allowing us to use their Central Asian land routes to Afghanistan.

While the Russians turn Chechnya into fracking gravel the US will keep the droves of Chechen expats, who WERE on the US side of the Chechen war, from returning to fight for their homeland.

This fellow was being ‘interviewed’ at his home, (but they STILL frisk you for weapons before they start the ‘interview’) for the second time in a day AT TWELVE MIDNIGHT for a 2 year old investigation into a Waltham Massachusetts drug-related murder.

Has the FBI finally settled on a story that includes a knife? Yesterday they were pretty vague. If so, and it’s true (the counterpoint storyteller is dead now), he probably just picked up a letter opener or kitchen knife laying around.

Another example of how the authorities can harass someone until they crack and then blame the dead victim.

I’ll say it again. When the FBI said they only interviewed the older Tsarnaev brother once. THEY LIED.

"…And in the war on Central Asians in the US:

An FBI special agent shot and killed a man in Orlando, Florida, early on Wednesday morning, just hours after he was interrogated about the Boston Marathon bombings. The man, who was identified as 27-year-old Ibragim Todashev, was reportedly an acquaintance of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who he met through the world of mixed martial arts.

Like Tsarnaev, he was a Chechen-born Muslim, but only met Tsarnaev after moving to the United States. Todashev was shot shortly after midnight at an apartment complex about 10 miles from Walt Disney World, after FBI agents reportedly returned for a final interview.

The FBI only said that an agent “encountered the suspect while conducting official duties. The suspect is deceased,” but has not offered any other details.

(UPDATE: 9:23 a.m.) The FBI now says that suspect became “violent” during questioning, which led to the shooting."

Our new ally Russia, who fed Obama all the cooked intelligence he wanted after the Marathon bombing, is overdue on it’s payback for allowing the West to use it’s land routes to Afghanistan instead of “Sniper Alley”, also know as the Khyber Pass.

We’ll help the Russians go ‘energy independent’ by allowing them to turn Chechnya into fracking gravel without complaining to the UN at all. Not to mention wiping out anyone currently in the West from Chechnya who might return to resist that.

More from NBC News:

Todashev, they say, had spent some time in the Boston area, where he was a mixed martial arts fighter, and knew Tsarnaev there. Investigators say he confessed (undoubtedly under incredible pressure -RR) to the agent in Florida that he played a role in a triple murder in 2011 in which three men were discovered slain in an apartment in Waltham, Mass.

Their throats had been cut, and their bodies were covered with marijuana. No suspects had been arrested in that case

Officials say FBI agents were questioning Todashev on Tuesday. He was cooperative at first, they say, but later that night, he attacked the agent with a knife, who shot and killed him. Officials say Todashev became violent as he was about to sign a written statement based on his (can you say “Forced”… -RR) confession.

One thing I’ve noticed about the FBI and “Domestic Terrorism” ‘perpetrators’… Not only do they completely set up the ‘perps’, which IS what law enforcement has pretty much always done, but they go farther now and set the victims up for SPECIFIC CHARGES, typically Patriot Act laws they want to have a body of test cases for:

Top U.S. Terrorist Group: The FBI

A careful study of the FBI’s own data on terrorism in the United States, reported in Trevor Aaronson’s book The Terror Factory, finds one organization leading all others in creating terrorist plots in the United States: the FBI.

Iceland refused to cooperate with an FBI investigation into WikiLeaks two years ago so the FBI just… dropped… in… without informing the Icelandic government to snoop around about WikiLeaks and it’s founder Julian Assange. Buy-Bye guys. Next time try NOT TO create an international incident with our ostensible allies Hunh?

Iceland didn’t spread their legs for the banks when their economy failed either, and Iceland was one of the first to recover their economic footing after the global market disturbances a few years back

"It’s very difficult to catch people who might become terrorists because too often they never get the opportunity,” said FBI spokesman Mike Petarky.

“It’s a business cliché, but it’s really all about networking. You can have all the hatred and rage in the world, but if you don’t meet the right people, you’ll never realize your potential."

MayDay IS Coming And They WANT The Servers… RiseUp Collective Server Seizure, April 2012

RiseUp Collective Server Seizure, April 2012

On Wednesday, April 18, at approximately 16:00 Eastern Time, U.S. Federal authorities removed a server from a colocation facility shared by Riseup Networks and May First/People Link in New York City. The seized server was operated by the European Counter Network (“ECN”), the oldest independent internet service provider in Europe,

Anonymous remailers are used to send email anonymously, or pseudonymously. Like other anonymizing services such as the Tor network, these remailers are widely used to protect the identity of human rights activists who place themselves and their families in grave danger by reporting information about abuses. Remailers are also important for corporate whistle blowers, democracy activists working under repressive regimes, and others to communicate vital information that would otherwise go un-reported.
On Wednesday, April 18, at approximately 16:00 Eastern Time, U.S. Federal authorities removed a server from a colocation facility shared by Riseup Networks and May First/People Link in New York City. The seized server was operated by the European Counter Network (“ECN”), the oldest independent internet service provider in Europe, who, among many other things, provided an anonymous remailer service, Mixmaster, that was the target of an FBI investigation into the bomb threats against the University of Pittsburgh.

The company running the facility has confirmed that the server was removed in conjunction with a search warrant issued at the request of the FBI,” said May First/People Link director Jamie McClelland. “The server seizure is not only an attack against us, but an attack against all users of the Internet who depend on anonymous communication.”

Disrupted in this seizure were academics, artists, historians, feminist groups, gay rights groups, community centers, documentation and software archives and free speech groups. The server included the mailing list “cyber rights” (the oldest discussion list in Italy to discuss this topic), a Mexican migrant solidarity group, and other groups working to support indigenous groups and workers in Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa. In total, over 300 email accounts, between 50-80 email lists, and several other websites have been taken off the Internet by this action. None are alleged to be involved in the anonymous bomb threats. The seized machine did not contain any riseup email accounts, lists, or user data. Rather, the data belonged to ECN.

The FBI is using a sledgehammer approach, shutting down service to hundreds of users due to the actions of one anonymous person,” said Devin Theriot-Orr, a spokesperson for Riseup. “This is particularly misguided because there is unlikely to be any information on the server regarding the source of the threatening emails.”

We sympathize with the University of Pittsburgh community who have had to deal with this frightening disruption for weeks. We oppose such threatening actions. However, taking this server won’t stop these bomb threats. The only effect it has is to also disrupt e-mail and websites for thousands of unrelated people,” continues Mr. Theriot-Orr. “Furthermore, the network of anonymous remailers that exists is not harmed by taking this machine. So we cannot help but wonder why such drastic action was taken when authorities knew that the server contained no useful information that would help in their investigation.

The FBI purportedly seized the server because it was hosting an anonymous remailer called Mixmaster… [In full, and in detail]

The FBI is going to have to work harder at setting people up for EXACTLY the PATRIOT Act charge the bust is designed test… I mean they’re the only people who have access to C4 or Semtex in the US. It SHOULD be easy… Even if they have to do it ALL themselves

A new study of homegrown terrorism involving Muslim Americans suggests that the alarm bells set off by Republicans in Congress over sleeper cells of Islamic extremists may be much too loud.

Despite warnings of a potential wave of violent attacks hatched on U.S. soil, research by the Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security finds that the number of attacks committed by Muslim Americans has fallen for the second year in a row. According to the study, 20 Muslim Americans carried out or were arrested for violent terrorist crimes in 2011, down from 26 in 2010 and 49 in 2009.

Since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the report said, 193 Muslim Americans have been arrested or convicted of violent terrorist acts. Last year was an average year for such offenses, the Durham, N.C.-based center said.

The findings, which follow revelations that the New York Police Department has spied on the city’s Muslim community, are sure to bolster critics who warn that singling out Muslim Americans is counterproductive and bigoted, and may make the country less safe.

“Muslim American terrorism continued to be a miniscule threat to public safety last year. None of America’s 14,000 murders in 2011 were due to Islamic extremism,” said Charles Kurzman, the University of North Carolina sociologist who wrote the study as well as the book “The Missing Martyrs: Why There Are So Few Muslim Terrorists.” He said, “The challenge is for Americans to be vigilant about potential violence while keeping these threats in perspective.”

David Schanzer, the Triangle Center’s director, said the study proves that “those who predicted an inevitable, rapid increase of homegrown violent extremism among Muslim Americans were wrong.” He added, “While homegrown radicalization is still a problem, the offenders from 2011 were less skilled and less connected with international terrorist organizations than the offenders in the prior two years.”

The overall drop in numbers aside, the study will likely bolster one fear raised on Capitol Hill. One in five Muslim American terrorist offenders last year had military experience. That’s a sharp increase — just 15 of the 193 perpetrators since 9/11 had served in the military — and suggests there may be some truth to officials’ concerns that Islamic extremists are infiltrating the ranks.

Among the study’s other findings:

  • Only one of the 20 offenders last year was accused of actually executing a terrorist attack.
  • The 20 offenders do not match any one ethnic or racial profile: 30 percent are Arab, 25 percent white, and 15 percent African American.
  • Last year’s offenders were more likely to be converts to Islam, with 40 percent of them having changed their religion compared to 35 percent of all Muslim American terrorist offenders since 9/11.
  • Only two of the 20 offenders received terrorism training abroad, compared to eight in 2010 and 28 in 2009, suggesting that those who do commit violent acts are learning their skills at home.
